By using Writo, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
1. Accounts
You may create an account as an author, publisher, or collaborator. You’re responsible for your account security and for keeping your contact information current. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
2. Content you submit
You retain ownership of the content you submit (book listings, descriptions, cover images, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Writo a non-exclusive licence to display, distribute, and promote that content on the site.
You confirm that you have the right to submit everything you post — for example, that you own the cover image or have permission to use it, and that the book description doesn’t infringe anyone else’s copyright.
3. Conduct
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or infringing content.
- Impersonate other authors, publishers, or collaborators.
- Submit fraudulent contributor claims for work you didn’t do.
- Use the site to spam, phish, or otherwise harm other users.
- Attempt to disrupt the service or bypass security measures.
4. Book listings
Authors and publishers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings. We may remove listings that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe to be infringing or fraudulent.
5. Contributor claims
The contributor-claim feature exists to give credit to people who genuinely worked on a book. False claims may be rejected by the book’s author or publisher, and may result in the loss of account privileges.
6. Affiliate links
Some buy links on the site use affiliate programmes (such as Amazon Associates). We may earn a small commission if you purchase through these links, at no extra cost to you.
7. Disclaimer
Writo is provided “as is”. We make reasonable efforts to keep the service available and accurate, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Writo and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continued use of Writo after a change indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
